Friends of the Guthrie Public Library
What is it?
The Friends group is a non-profit organization of volunteers who believe in the value of the public library and work to enhance its services through fundraisers, raising public awareness, and generally supporting the library. To put it another way, FOL members are "cheerleaders" for the Library, drumming up support and keeping people involved.
What types of activities are Friends involved in?
- Fundraisers for the Library
- Assistance with Library programs
- Sponsorship of special events
When are the meetings?
The Friends meet the 2nd Saturday of every month at 10:00 AM, in the library's meeting room.
How do I join?
Drop by the Library and pick up an application.
How much does it cost?
Individual Membership - $5.00
Business/Group/Family Membership - $10.00
The prices listed above are membership costs only. If you are interested in making a larger donation, please contact a Friends representative to make arrangements.
I have questions you don't cover here. Who do I talk to for answers?
The President of our local Friends group is happy to answer any questions you have about their programs, membership, and any other related topics. You can contact Calvin Selman at 405-282-4110.
I'm a very busy person. I don't have time for a lot of meetings and projects.
That's OK, too. The most important thing is that you show how much you love and support the Library by being a Friends member. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
